Orphanage & Adjoining School To Open
A project backed by Seidor UK to build a new orphanage in Tanzania, East Africa, has been completed.
The orphanage can house hundreds of children and also includes an adjoining school for up to 40 pupils.
The project was sponsored by the United VARs organisation – of which Seidor is a founder member – and was also heavily backed by SAP. It was completed with the assistance of Kleine Hilfsaktion, a registered charity from Germany, who work across the globe in some of the poorest countries.
“The relocation of the children was repeatedly postponed by the Coronavirus pandemic but has now been completed,” said Nadine Urbansky from Kleine Hilfsaktion.
“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Detlef Mehlmann (United VARs Managing Director) and his team for their great cooperation and support and of course for the generous donation from United VARs and SAP.”
Work on the orphanage began in March 2020 and despite the pandemic, building work was completed at the end of March 2021.
It is the latest project undertaken the United VARs as part of its CSR programme. Back in 2019, the company helped raise funds for Project WASH to help provide clean water and sanitation for school children in Cambodia.
