Find Out What's Coming Next For SAP Business One
SAP have published details of the future of SAP Business One and the new innovations and features that are set to be introduced to over the next few years.
The Product Road Map outlines SAP’s vision to make SAP Business One the “best ERP for SMEs in the digital economy”, which users will access and maintain their solution online.
SAP adds that it has a “full commitment” to leveraging SAP HANA, building on its position as the “first SME ERP solution that uses in-memory technology”.
The document details how the solution aims to play a key role in transforming organisations into digital businesses. This will be achieved through analytics, real-time updates, innovative technologies, user-friendly features and mobile connectivity.
There is a commitment to the “continuous” delivery of all versions in mainstream maintenance by SAP as part of its future releases. Version 10.0 is pencilled in for 2019 and SAP Business One Version 11 has been given a provisional release date for 2023.
A new mobile service app is planned by SAP later this year. This is one of several new innovations aimed at increasing workforce productivity, including new online/offline capabilities for the existing sales app.
As part of SAP’s vision for customers to access SAP Business One online, it will launch a new native web client, based on the SAP Fiori user experience and SAPUI5. Other core innovations include integration with Microsoft 365 and other SAP solutions.
Businesses will find it easier to work across the globe, according to SAP, with more legal compliance and localisation enhancements added to the solution.
To ensure easy and affordable deployment in the cloud, SAP is set to introduce a new infrastructure for customers. Organisations will have the choice of either a standard or premium option, where users have more advanced functionality.
Those that don’t wish to run their solution on SAP’s hosted cloud platform will enjoy “more flexible and intuitive cloud management” by using the cloud control centre. Users will also be able to migrate to SAP HANA using the same platform.
